Unfortunately, Kickass Torrents was recently shut down by authorities, making users unable to access free files over the internet. However, the demise of Kickass Torrents has given way to other torrent sites that people are now using as an alternative.
Kickass Torrents was shut down by authorities last July when its owner — Artem Vaulin — was arrested by U.S. and Polish authorities. The shutdown of the most used torrent website has given way to other torrent websites such at The Pirate Bay, YIFY movies, Torrent Hound, Extra torrents, and Torrentz.eu.
By September, The Pirate Bay has gained the most from the Kickass Torrents shutdown.
"In absolute terms The Pirate Bay benefited the most, adding several million daily visitors, with a relative increase of 67 percent," TorrentFreak said in a report. TorrentFreak also emphasized that other torrent websites have greatly increased their visibility because of the Kickass Torrents website shut down.
However, these Kickass Torrents alternatives were not able to last long enough since these websites were flagged and blocked by several internet browsers. The Pirate Bay, for one, is being blocked by browsers such as Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox, preventing users from accessing the files on the sites.
Fortunately for avid torrent users, there are still no official reports about the Kickass Torrents alternatives being shut down. Torrent users can still look to alternative websites to gain access to several files on the web.
One alternative for Kickass Torrents is TPBClean. TBPClean offers its users a simpler The Pirate Bay interface, making it one of the most used Kickass Torrents alternatives today. All the torrents available on The Pirate Bay can be found on TBPClean as well, without adult entertainment content.
Another alternative for Kickass Torrents is Torrentz.ht. The website offers its users an interface which is similar to that of Torrentz.eu. Torrentz.ht is now being widely used by torrent users who have been accustomed with Torrentz.eu.
