George R.R. Martin's epic "A Song of Ice and Fire" hit book series might just receive its sixth novel installment — "The Winds of Winter" — approximately six years after the latest book in the hit fantasy series was released.

According to recent speculations, the highly-awaited sixth book of the "A Song of Ice and Fire" series is currently undergoing the proofreading phase. Rumors suggest that George R.R. Martin had finished the book just in time for its 2017 deadline.

"The Winds of Winter" novel has experienced several delays over the last six years. It is said that the delays were due to George R.R. Martin's rather slow writing phase, but some rumors suggest that the book release was delayed due to the multiple projects that the author is working on.

Furthermore, another thing that adds to the suspicion that "The Winds of Winter" book is already finished is the fact that Amazon France listed the book's release date as March 9, 2017. Unfortunately, the page has been taken down, and it was rumored that the French Amazon website posted the listing without any official approval from the Amazon head office.

What's more is that book publishers Random House and Voyager/Harper Collins Books have assured reporters that there is still no official release date set for George R.R. Martin's "The Winds of Winter."

On another note, despite the lack of information about the plot of "The Winds of Winter," it is said that the sixth installation of the "A Song of Ice and Fire" series will become the longest novel yet, especially since it has taken George R.R. Martin approximately six years to complete it.

As of now there is still no official news as to when "The Winds of Winter" will be released, but some speculations suggest that the book will be out in the market just before HBO's hit TV series "Game of Thrones" premiers its seventh season.
