Once again, the Mikaelsons' twisted family ties will appear in the fourth season of "The Originals" next 2017.

The previous season showed the downfall of the powerful Mikaelson family when Marcel Gerard (Charles Michael Davis) impaled and imprisoned Klaus (Joseph Morgan) while other members of the Mikaelson family, Elijah (Daniel Gillies), Rebekah (Claire Holt), and Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic) were put in a deep sleep until a cure for them is found.

Despite the bleak finale of the last season, the Mikaelsons' siblings bond are said to become stronger in the fourth installment of the TV franchise, specifically Kol and Rebekah's. According to Entertainment Weekly, "The Originals" producer Julie Plec shares that Kol and Rebekah share the same sentiment toward their very unusual family."The two of them are going to bond in a way that we haven't gotten to see so much about what their future is in this family and how much of this crazy they're expected to live through," Plec said.

Fans can also expect more of the Marcel and Klaus' love-hate relationship in season 4, especially since the last season ended with a very emotional Marcel putting Klaus behind bricks.

Even though "The Originals" plot still thickens, rumors are spreading that season 4 could be the franchise's final one, especially since The CW announced that they will be cutting down the 22-episode season to only 13 episodes on 2017.

Furthermore, rumored speculations on how "The Originals" story would end suggest that Klaus' death caused by a stronger enemy could perhaps be the way The CW chooses to finish the franchise.

As of now there is no specific date yet when "The Originals" season four will be airing, but according to The CW, fans can expect to see the Mikaelson family again in the first quarter of 2017.
