In the season 2 finale of "The Flash," Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) went back in time to save his mother from being killed, triggering an alternate timeline for him and his loved ones. Meanwhile, the Flash faces multiple villains in the upcoming third season of the show.

When Zoom (Tony Todd) killed Barry's father — Henry (John Wesley Shipp) — in "The Flash" season 2, it pushed Barry to make a life-changing decision. He gave up the chance to finally be with Iris West (Candice Patton) and went back in time to save his mother from being killed by the Reverse-Flash (Matt Letscher). This change in Barry's past triggered the existence of an alternate timeline for him and the people in Central City, which leads to the show's "Flashpoint" arc.

The CW has already released the synopsis for episode 1 of "The Flash" season 3, titled "Flashpoint." According to the synopsis, the season begins with both of Barry's parents still alive. He will go on a date with Iris as he lives a normal crime-free life thanks to the existence of another speedster in Central City, Kid Flash (Keiynan Lonsdale).

Just when Barry has gotten comfortable in his alternate life, the Reverse-Flash pays him a visit and threatens him. The latter tells Barry that there are dire consequences for him and his loved ones if he continues living in the alternate timeline.

The clock is ticking, and Barry needs to make a decision. If he stays in his new life, he will start losing his memory of his old life. He will also gradually lose his speedster powers.

Meanwhile, Barry will be facing multiple villains as well in "The Flash" season 3. Other than the two big bads that Barry will face — Dr. Alchemy (Eric McCormack) and Savitar (the actor for the role remains under wraps as of now) the Mirror Master will appear in the fourth episode of season , reports TV Line.

Sam Scudder (Grey Damon)/the Mirror Master is a criminal who discovers that he has acquired the power to travel through any reflective surfaces. With his powers, he commits major crimes in Central City to prove that he is the top dog of all crimes.

Episode 1 — titled "Flashpoint" — of "The Flash" season 3 premieres Tuesday, Oct. 4, at 8 p.m. EDT on The CW.
