The anticipated sixth installment of the open-world role-playing game "The Elder Scrolls" is not yet in the works. Meanwhile, there are speculations which location in Tamriel will be used as the new installment's setting.

The developer of "The Elder Scrolls" series — Bethesda Game Studios — will be releasing its fifth and most recent installment of the game, "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" this October. But followers of the game are already itching for the sixth installment and are anticipating any details of its upcoming release and new features.

However, according to Bethesda marketing executive Pete Hines, "The Elder Scrolls VI" is not even in production yet. "The Elder Scrolls VI isn't in development. We simply said we would make it eventually. Don't want people to be misled," Hines said in a post on his Twitter account.

One of the reasons for the delay in creating the sixth installment to "The Elder Scrolls" is Bethesda Game Studios juggling different projects from time to time. In an interview with Mmorpg, Hines explained, "But at the end of the day, these folks have a right to not just have to make Elder Scrolls game after Elder Scrolls game, which is why they switched to Fallout, and they have a right to stretch their legs and try something else or do something different."

In the mean time, while there are no updates about "The Elder Scrolls VI" just yet, Bethesda will be releasing "The Elder Scrolls Legends" for mobile and PC before this year ends, according to Gamespot.

There are speculations that when "The Elder Scrolls VI" is released, it will have a new location from the world of Tamriel, since all the previous games were set in different places from that universe.

Among the locations in Tamriel, Valenwood, Elsweyr, and Black Marsh a.k.a. Argonia have not been used yet. Many speculations point out that Argonia is the likely choice for the upcoming sixth installment.

Argonia is the place where lizard folk called Argonians live in Tamriel. Argonians have been playable characters in the previous "Elder Scrolls" games, and it is possible that Bethesda is thinking of showing the world which these underwater-breathing reptiles live in.
