Winchester brothers Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) will be facing Hitler, as he is brought back to life by The Thule in "Supernatural" season 12. Meanwhile, their mother Mary (Samantha Smith) has also returned and is back to demon-fighting alongside her two boys.
Next season on "Supernatural," the Winchesters will be fighting Hitler along with The Thule, who will be responsible for bringing Hitler back to life. The Thule Society is one of necromancers who want to rule the world, which appeared back in season 8. Executive producer and writer Andrew Dabb said, "We've got something really cool coming up in Episode 5, where it will be the triumphant or not so triumphant return of The Thule, who have decided to enact their master plan and bring back Hitler," during an interview with TV Line. With the return of The Thule with Hitler, fans can expect new doors in demon-fighting to open for Sam and Dean in season 12.
Another character in the series is making a comeback in season 12 to help Sam and Dean. The grandson of a member of a Judah Initiative, Aaron Bass (Adam Rose), will also be in the battle against Hitler side-by-side with the Winchester brothers.
Speaking of comebacks, a member of the family has returned. In the season 11 finale of "Supernatural," Dean finds Mary wandering in the woods just after he was able to stop the end of the world from happening. Based on the season 12 photos released by The CW via TV Line, it looks like she is back to her demon-fighting ways, riding the Impala along with son Dean. Her return is just in time to save her other son Sam, who was taken by Toni Bevell (Elizabeth Blackmore) from the Men of Letters in the season 11 finale. The Men of Letters is a group of powerful human beings that have observed and gained vast knowledge about supernatural entities, who are now on a mission to apprehend the Winchesters from releasing all kinds of chaos into the world.
A familiar character in the series will be coming back in season 12, but in a new form. Lucifer will be returning with a new vessel, none other than "Jessie's Girl" singer Rick Springfield. At the 2016 San Diego Comic-Con last July, writer and executive producer Bob Singer said, "The first vessel that Lucifer feels comfortable with is a rock star." Springfield will be playing Vince Vicente, as a rock star in the show who will be inhabited by Lucifer as his vessel.
"Supernatural" season 12 will premiere on Oct. 13 at 9 p.m. EDT on The CW.
