The team behind the latest "Star Wars" trilogy is planning to give more depth and air time to the character of Captain Phasma, the female Stormtrooper commander seen in episode seven.

Some "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" characters picked up a significant amount of airtime, but Captain Phasma was not one of them. Considered as the latest trilogy's counterpart of Boba Fett from the first set of three, Captain Phasma is played by Gwendoline Christie who is best known for her role as Brienne of Tarth in the world-renowned series "Game of Thrones."

In an interview with Los Angeles Times, Christie gave her two cents on the character she portrays in the "Star Wars" saga. She says that "[Phasma] makes a lot of impact but she's not at the forefront of the action all the time."

"Star Wars" producer Kathleen Kennedy, who is also known for bringing films such as "Schindler's List" and "The Sixth Sense," says that she has big plans for Phasma. Kennedy further confirmed that the character will be carried on to the next film. "She is an important character, a baddie in the best sense of the word," Kennedy said about Phasma to LA Times.

According to IMDB, Christie will still be carrying the role of Captain Phasma in "Star Wars: Episode Eight," which is now in the process of filming. Christie is also known for playing the role of Commander Lyme in "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part Two."

Captain Phasma was first introduced in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" as the commander of the First Order Stormtroopers. She only appeared a limited amount of times like in scenes where she addresses Finn, the rogue Stormtrooper, for removing his helmet without permission, and where she is held captive by Finn, Han Solo and Chewbacca after the three break into the enemy stronghold.

Plasma stands out as a trooper because of the chrome-colored armour she bears.
