One of the new features to be included in the "Pokemon GO" Gen 2 update is the ability to battle with other Pokemon trainers. Niantic — creator of "Pokemon GO" — is also planning to make gym training easier for Pokemon in the upcoming update.
Niantic launched "Pokemon GO" recently in July, and its team is already in the process of creating a new update with a whole new set of features. In an interview with Recode, Niantic CEO John Hanke said, "It's been a busy two months, so we're now happy that we're kind of stabilized and able to start being a little more thoughtful about the next set of features that we want to build."
One of the features that Niantic is thinking of including in the "Pokemon GO" Gen 2 update is player-vs-player battles. Although no other details were shared about this new feature, Hanke said that it is something that they discuss regularly within the team.
Aside from player battles, Hanke is thinking of adding a trading feature, similar to the signature feature of the "Pokemon" games for the Game Boy. This will allow Pokemon trainers to exchange Pokemon with other trainers, ensuring that both parties are on their way to collecting all the creatures available in the app.
In a recent post from Pokemon GO Live, it is said that the "Gen 2" update will be improving the mechanics of gym training for Pokemon.
"In an upcoming version of Pokémon GO, when training at a friendly Gym, Trainers will be able to bring six Pokémon to battle instead of one. In addition, the CP of the Pokémon you are training against may be temporarily adjusted lower during your training session to generally match your Pokémon's battle capabilities," the post said.
This allows Pokemon trainers to advance easier in their friendly gyms, and also improve their Pokemon with less difficulty.
"Pokemon GO" Gen 2 will be released in 2017.
