MacBook air 2016 release date rumors: Apple to skip Macbook air 2016

The Apple MacBook Pro Apple

Apple's MacBook Air is one laptop that has constantly dominated the netbook scene, but the lack of news and updates for this year's version are triggering speculations that Apple may be planning to skip the 2016 version and go right ahead for the 2017 one instead.

Several rumors about the release of Apple's MacBook air 2016 are spreading on the internet, and one suggests that the MacBook Air line might be phased out. However, this is not a rumor fans are too keen to believe, especially since the MacBook air has been considered a successful product since its first version was released.

Despite little information on whether Apple will release a MacBook air this 2016 or the next, there are still many rumors as to what fans can expect from the next MacBook air. The next MacBook air to be released is said to come in three variants that sport an 11-inch, 13-inch, and 15-inch screen with a Retina display.

Additionally, the Apple laptop is also expected to come out with 8 GB of random access memory (RAM) that will run the macOS Sierra. Aside from these features, Apple's next MacBook air is also expected to sport an Apple-Pencil that can be used as a trackpad, a Thunderbolt 3 integrated USB type-c port, and Apple's known personal assistant, Siri.

Another thing that fans can look forward to is Apple's rumored attempt at enhancing the MacBook air's security measures by incorporating the Touch ID feature along with a Force Touch upgrade.

Furthermore, the new Apple MacBook air is also reported to boast a new chassis that will make it much slimmer and lighter than its predecessors.

Even though there are no news yet regarding the release of Apple's next MacBook air, it is expected to arrive in the first half of 2017 with a price tag of $1,200 and above.
