Now that Jane (Gina Rodriguez) is married to Michael (Brett Dier), she and Rafael (Justin Baldoni) will be having a complex co-parenting relationship and not necessarily in a good way. Meanwhile, Rogelio (Jaime Camil) will be focusing on his career but luck may not be on his side.

According to Jennie Urman in an interview with TV Line, Rogelio will now be focused on parenting his son with Jane in season 3. Since Jane chose and married Michael, Rogelio has accepted that reality and will be moving on from his feelings for Jane. Rogelio's storyline in season 3 will be more focused on being in Mateo's life as his father.

"There's going to be a lot around Mateo. Rafael has a surprising new attitude this season. After seeing Jane walk down the aisle with someone and all the subsequent events, he's come to something new, and that's going to continually complicate their parenting dynamic in good, interesting, challenging ways," explained Urman.

Speaking of changing paths, Rogelio will be taking on a new career path that may not work for him in "Jane the Virgin" season 3. Now that Rogelio and Xo (Andrea Navedo) have decided to part ways, the two will begin working on each of their careers and try to accomplish want they have always wanted to accomplish.

Xo is expected to get a big break in her career, with an audition in "The Voice" on the horizon. however, it seems that Lady Luck won't be on Rogelio's side.

Urman told with Yahoo!, "Rogelio is going to be bringing one of his beloved telenovelas, 'The Passions of Santos' — he decides he wants to remake that for the American audience. He runs into a little trouble, because the Americanized version loses some of what he loves about 'Santos,' namely that he's starring in it."

But Rogelio won't give up just yet until he captures the hearts of the American viewers.

"Jane the Virgin" season 3 airs every Monday at 9 p.m. EDT on The CW.
