Dr. Eliza Minnick (Marika Dominczyk) might be Arizona Robbins' (Jessica Capshaw) new lover in "Grey's Anatomy" season 13. Meanwhile, Minnick is interested in joining Grey Sloan and might cause conflict between her and Dr. Richard Webber (James Pickens Jr.).
Previously in "Grey's Anatomy" season 13, Dr. Miranda Bailey (Chandra Wilson) consulted a learning specialist — Eliza— to assess and evaluate Grey Sloan's teaching methods. The visitor surely caused chaos at the hospital, questioning surgery and established teaching methods. Minnick also created a list ranking all the attendings in terms of the residents' votes.
It was previously reported that a new character will become Arizona's new love interest, and it appears that this will be Eliza. While Arizona was trying to explain her role in the hospital, Eliza somewhat agrees and mentions that she also noticed the former's beautiful face.
Aside from Arizona, Eliza also made a strong impression on Richard. After a day of questioning and evaluating the ways of Grey Sloan, even after a critical condition resulted in Eliza's initiative in the hospital, Richard has opened his arms to her and tells Miranda that he would like to work with Eliza.
Eliza also tells Miranda of her interest to work at Grey Sloan, but she makes it clear that she will stay on top of things and will not share authority with anyone else.
In the upcoming seventh episode — titled "The Room Where It Happens" — there might be a big power struggle between Richard and Eliza, especially since the former has always has the upper hand when it comes to the teaching methods implemented at Grey Sloan. The doctors of Grey Sloan will also have a clash of their own, as seen in the episode promo.
According to the synopsis released by CarterMatt, "A difficult surgery brings back pivotal memories for Meredith, Richard, Owen and Stephanie, as they work together to save a life."
"Grey's Anatomy" season 13 airs every Thursday at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC.
