Google Nexus 7 release date rumors: Nexus 7 ready for October release, to come out with new name

Technology giant Google will be showing off its latest gadgets this October including the new Nexus 7, which is rumored to be introduced with a new name.

Google will be holding its Pixel event on Oct. 4 in San Francisco, California. The Google event is promoting the tagline "Made by Google," which suggests that every item presented in the event is either created by Google or carrying the Google brand.

One of the most anticipated gadgets that is rumored to be shown in Google's Pixel event is the Nexus 7. The device is expected to come out together with Google's Daydream virtual reality platform, Google Home, and the new Pixel phones. Because of this, word has spread that Google will actually be releasing the Nexus 7 under the new name "Pixel 7."

Reports say that Google might be announcing Pixel as their new brand for their next flagship phones and tablets due to the somewhat misleading Nexus numbering Google is using today.

The rumored Pixel 7 tablet is said to be manufactured by Huawei, leading Nexus fans to conclude that the new phone will provide a completely different experience from the Nexus 6, which was manufactured by ASUS.

According to a leak by known mobile phone tipster, Evan Blass, Google's new flagship tablet will allegedly sport a 7-inch screen and a massive 4 GB of random access memory (RAM). It is also expected to come with a 2560 x 1440 AMOLED display and will run on Android Nougat, especially since the Android OS has just been released.

Furthermore, Google's new 7-inch tablet will reportedly be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, backed up by a 64 GB internal storage that can be expanded up to 2 TB. Moreover, the new Nexus 7 is also speculated to come out with a 5-megapixel front camera coupled with a 13-megapixel rear shooter.

As for the price tag, Google's Nexus 7 is expected to launch with a market price of around $250.
