Google Nexus 7 2016 release date news, specs rumors: Phone arriving before end of the year; will it have the Andromeda OS?

The upcoming Nexus 7 tablet will allegedly be launched before 2016 ends. Among other features, the device is anticipated to upgrade to the Andromeda OS.

Evan Blass — an American blogger and gadget leakster — revealed on his Twitter account that Google will be releasing a 7-inch tablet manufactured by Huawei by the end of the year, which sparked speculations that this will be the new Nexus 7 2016 tablet.

There have been a lot of leaks and rumors about what fans can expect from the Nexus 7 2016, but the most buzzed about is its OS upgrade to the Andromeda in place of the Android OS.

According to Neurogadget, the Andromeda is a combination of Android and the Chrome OS. It is anticipated that Google will implement the Andromeda OS on all its devices starting with the Nexus 7 2016.

Mobile & Apps reports that the Andromeda is expected to enhance the tablet with desktop capabilities, which could improve the device's programs and multi-tasking features. It is also anticipated to have AMOLED display run by Snapdragon 820 and Adreno 530. Aside from a 4 GB RAM, the Nexus 7 2016 will have a memory storage capacity of around 64 GB.

The new Nexus 7 is expected to have a 13-megapixel rear camera and more than 5100 mAh battery capacity. It will also have the latest USB Type-C port for compatibility in data transfers and battery charging.

Recently, the new Nexus phones were launched in the market but were rebranded by Google as Pixel and Pixel XL. Because of this, the Nexus 7 2016 is anticipated to be renamed as Pixel 7 when it debuts in the market as Google is undergoing a phase of rebranding in their devices.

The Verge revealed that Google CEO Sundar Pichai said at the Code Conference last June that they will "be more opinionated about the design of the phones" and will "push the devices forward."

The Nexus 7 2016 or the Pixel 7 is anticipated to debut by the end of 2016.
