Google's Nexus 7 is expected to be launched anytime soon, and fans of the 7-inch tablet speculate that the device might be released under the Pixel name instead of remaining under the Nexus brand.

Google's Nexus line-up has been known for its impressive specs and less competitive price tags. Because of the pre-conceived notions with the Nexus line-up, speculations suggest that the upcoming 7-inch tablet might also be a mid-range device rather than a premium device like those under the Pixel brand.

However, if rumors regarding the Nexus being rebranded as a Pixel device prove to be true, then fans should expect the tablet to come with a heftier price tag.

The 7-inch Nexus 7 tablet is speculated to come with an Android-Chrome desktop-class performance operating system, the Andromeda. And if there's any truth to this rumor, then the Nexus 7 will become the first tablet to ever have a desktop-class operating system.

Furthermore, the upcoming Google Nexus 7 is speculated to come out of the box with a high resolution 7-inch AMOLED display.

The tablet is also said to have a rather large storage capacity of 64 GB. Unfortunately, there is no word on whether the device will have an expandable memory via microSD card, but the tablet does have an impressive 4 GB of RAM as well as a 5100 mAh capacity battery.

Other features of the upcoming Google Nexus 7 tablet includes a 13-megapixel rear camera and the new USB Type-C port. And as for the device's processor, rumors suggest that Google will also use the current processors found in the recently released Pixel devices, which is the Snapdragon 821.

As of now there is still no official word from Google as to when the Nexus 7 will be released, or what specs the Nexus 7 will include, but speculations highly suggest that the tablet will be released just before this year ends.
