'Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2' release date: Pre-order and special editions unveiled

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 Collector's Edition Bandai Namco

"Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" is being promoted as a much bigger game than its predecessor, and a report from Gematsu reveals that there will be pre-order bonuses and special editions available, giving gamers more rare collectibles and incentives to get the game early or at a higher value.

According to the report, the pre-order will come with Goku Black as a playable character and will give the Tao Pai Pai Stick as a flying vehicle to travel across the game's world. Goku Black is a villain from the "Dragon Ball Super" series and is from a future timeline.

There is also a Deluxe Edition of the game available and this is listed at $89.99. This will come with the base game and will allow players to gain early access to "Dragon Ball Super" Future Trunks, who is from a different timeline from the Future Trunks of "Dragon Ball Z."

It will also come with the Season Pass, which is valued at $29.99, granting access to four upcoming DLC packs that will grant additional playable characters, more in-game quests and episodes. The season pass will also include new Masters, Master Quests, stages, costumes, character skills and more.

A Collector's Edition will be available for $149.99 and will come with the base game, an exclusive steelbook case, a copy of the game's official soundtrack, the collector's box and a 13-inch tall statue of Son Goku.

Gamespot reports that the four DLC packs will cost $10 each but players can avail of the Season Pass to get all four together for just $29.99. The season pass is bundled with the Deluxe Edition of the game although there are no indications if it is also packaged with the Collector's Edition.

"Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" will be available for the PS4 and Xbox One in the U.S. on Oct. 25. It will later launch in Europe on Oct. 28. A PC version will launch via Steam worldwide on Oct. 28.
