"Assassin's Creed Empire" is the latest installment of the "Assassin's Creed" franchise, and avid fans are getting excited about it because of a leak suggesting that the game will take place in Egypt.

"Assassin's Creed Empire" will be the 10th installment of "Assassin's Creed" developed by Ubisoft. It follows the previous "Assassin's Creed Syndicate" game that was launched last Oct. 2015.

"Assassin's Creed" is a game well known for its third-person action-adventure gameplay that is set in known historical places such as Rome, Italy, and London. The "Assassin's Creed" series follows the story of century-old battles between Assassins and Templars, who are both fighting to gain control over large cities and influential people.

For "Assassin's Creed Empire," the game is rumored to be set in the land of ancient Egypt, a speculation triggered by a leaked photo on twitter captioned "First Assassin's Creed Empire screenshot leaked (Egypt confirmed?)." The photo contains an image of an ongoing game design by Ubisoft that shows what seems to be a pyramid. Additionally, the game is rumored to have a former slave as the new protagonist, along with scenic views of the desert, mirages, vegetation, and blue skies. The Egyptian assassin is also rumored to be able to ride horses, boats, and even control an eagle to view certain areas from afar.

Unfortunately, there is still no set release date for the 10th installment of "Assassin's Creed." The game might not even be ready for 2017 since the Alpha version of the game is still under development according to Ubisoft VP of Editorial Tommy François. "This is the goal we're going for: Alpha one year before, more quality, more polish," François said in an interview with IGN.

Ubisoft creates Alpha versions of the game before the year of the game's official release. The Alpha version is created so that there will be enough time for improvements.

"You just can't take shortcuts," François said. "So if this means biting the (bullet) and not having an Assassin's game, or a Far Cry (in 2017), f*** it," he added.
