Android's latest OS — the 7.0 Nougat — was initially run on the Google Pixel and the LG V20, leaving other smartphone users still waiting for their 7.0 Nougat update. However, not all 7.0 users are contently enjoying their new Android OS, for some have been anticipating the 7.1 update to come to their phones.

As of now, the Android 7.0 Nougat has been made available to Google's Pixel phones, LG's V20, Samsung's S7, S6, and S5 series, and the Nexus 6P and 5X.

The Android 7.0 Nougat provides its users with a new set of emojis amounting to 1500 characters, including 72 new ones, and Multi Locale language settings that would allow its users have a more flexible communication style through their smartphones.

The new Android OS also allows its users to open and use mobile applications simultaneously with its new multi-window viewing feature, therefore allowing them to quickly switch between apps. Additionally, there's the new notification direct reply feature that enables users to reply to messages without opening any applications.

Other great features included in the Android 7.0 Nougat OS is the Virtual Reality mode that is said to go well with daydream-ready phones.

Another interesting feature is the Doze battery feature that helps users save power usage.

What's more is that the 7.0 Nougat has just been followed by its 7.1 update that is said to include more application shortcuts, image keyboard support, an updated SDK, and emulators that can run unsupported applications.

Unfortunately the Nougat's 7.1 update is not yet available for many smartphones. However, the update can now be enjoyed by Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X and Pixel C users since both factory images and OTA .zip files have been made available for their smartphones.

On another note, other brands such as Sony, Motorola, and HTC will allegedly receive the update before 2016 ends. Meanwhile, Sony's Xperia XA and Ultra along with OnePlus smartphones are expected to receive the update in early 2017.
