'Wonder Woman' release date in June 2017; 'Justice League' premiere also set

Wonder Woman to come out in cinemas on July 2017 Warner Bros. Official Website

Two DC movies have been given an official launch date by Warner Bros. and they are the standalone film for the Amazonian warrior "Wonder Woman" and part one of "The Justice League." Both films are set to hit screens in 2017.

In the official website of Warner Bros., the production has announced that "Wonder Woman" is set to release on June 23, 2017 and that "Justice League" will premiere on Nov. 17, 2017. Of course, first release date announcements are not always final, but fans can still hope as many major film franchises have been known to keep their promises on premiere dates.

The CW has also given DC fans a look into some official footage in the upcoming "Wonder Woman" film, showing actress Gal Gadot (best known for her role in the "Fast and the Furious" franchise) sporting the Amazon princess Diana's armor and weapons- a shield and sword.

The movie is seen in a World War 2 setting, showing some fight scenes where Diana comes in conflict with some soldiers, which possibly implies a tension between Wonder Woman and some government superpowers of the time.

Gadot shares that being Wonder Woman was always her dream role. "We're going to see her coming of age. The entire history." Gadot said.

In addition to the announcement of the "Wonder Woman" film release date, Warner Bros. also told fans that "Justice League" will be happening next year as well. The first part of the movie following the band of DC heroes will star Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher and Ezra Miller, and will be directed by Zack Snyder.

Rumours indicate that the upcoming DC film "Batman v. Superman" will set up the plot for "Justice League 1" and "Wonder Woman" will provide a backstory to Princess Diana who will also be appearing in "Batman v. Superman."
