The first-ever psychic known to have transformed into the Devil is coming to Mystic Falls to unleash terror on Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Caroline's (Candice King) family. Meanwhile, will Seline (Kristen Gutoskie) offer Caroline's twins to the Devil to free herself and her sister?
In the upcoming sixth episode of "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 — titled "Detoured On Some Random Backwoods Path to Hell" — the Devil that the twins Sybil (Nathalie Kelley) and Seline work for will come to Mystic Falls.
In the set photos released by TV Line, the Devil — also known by the name Arcadius (Wole Parks) or Cade — has arrived courtesy of Caroline's magical twins. It is anticipated that Cade will be the season's final and biggest villain. It was said that in order for Stefan to save Damon (Ian Somerhalder) from going on a killing spree in Mystic Falls, he must kill the first-ever psychic who became the Devil and created hell: Cade.
In the following episode — titled "The Next Time I Hurt Somebody, It Could Be You" — it seems that Cade and Stefan will have an ugly first meeting.
According to the synopsis from The Futon Critic, "Faced with the fallout from his interaction with Cade, Stefan is determined to have one thing go right - Christmas Eve with Caroline. However, when Damon and Sybil crash their Christmas Eve dinner, which had been joined by Alaric (Matt Davis), Matt (Zach Roerig), and Peter (Joel Gretsch), things quickly take a dark and twisted turn. Meanwhile, in a series of flashbacks to Stefan's past, Cade's attempt to entice him with his mysterious agenda leaves Stefan faced with an unimaginable decision."
Meanwhile, could Seline offer Caroline's twins to take their place under Cade's hold?
There are speculations that Seline wants to release herself and her sister from Cade, and that she will offer the twins to take their place. Rumors started spreading when she began taking care of the twins and was reminded of her childhood with her twin sister. But Caroline will do everything to protect her twins from the Devil, and she might prevent Seline from acting out her plan.
