"The Sims 5" is anticipated to be released in 2019, although it's official release will still depend on the performance of "Sims 4." There have been bad reviews that have affected the performance of "The Sims 4" in the market, but fans expect that "The Sims 5" is already a work in progress as of 2015.

The life simulation game created by EA Maxis was a hit among gamers since its first release in February 2000. Whenever a new "The Sims" series is released, a whole lot of features are also upgraded from the previous one. Developers work meticulously to improve simulations, facial features, social relationships, neighborhoods and more in every series. Such takes a lot of time, which explains the time gap between releases of "The Sims" games. Fans of the franchise are not surprised that "The Sims 5" is expected to be launched in 2019, five years after the fourth installment's release in September 2014.

Fans expect that when "The Sims 5" is released, it will be better in terms of animation graphics and simulations. However, according to the website of "The Sims 5" game, its release is still dependent on the performance of its current series, "The Sims 4." Although its launch was a success, there have been bad reviews about the game that have affected its pull in the market.

Another factor affecting the game's market performance is that fact that it is only available on Windows PC and Mac versions. The developers should look into creating a game console for "The Sims" series so that they reach a wider customer base.

While fans are still anticipating the new series' release, they can keep company with a new expansion pack that will be released in the coming holiday season. A Twitter post back in August leaked that the new expansion pack is called "City Life." Movie News Guide also reports that "The Sims 4: City Life" will have a new world for the Sims to revel in, known as "Metropolis." It will include city life attractions such as parks, food stands, penthouses and more.
