Freya (Riley Voelkel) will stop at nothing to eliminate all threats to their family, including Marcel (Charles Michael Davis). Meanwhile, Alaric (Matthew Davis) will pay a visit and impart knowledge to the Mikaelsons that will help them fight the Hollow.
Previously on "The Originals" season 4, a branch grew out of Marcel's body that can be used in killing one of the original vampires — the Mikaelsons. Although Marcel is like a son to Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and almost family to the others, Freya will not think twice about killing Marcel.
In an interview with Collider, executive producer Michael Narducci shared that Freya will do anything for the family that she has longed so much for.
"She's found and protected her family, and now there's someone out there that can kill them. ... Freya doesn't know Marcel that well. Freya knows that Marcel can kill her family. If someone threatened to kill your mom or dad, or your son or daughter, you would stop at nothing to neutralize that person," Narducci explained.
Although Freya's priority is to save her family, she is also experiencing something new with Keelin (Christina Moses).
In an interview with TVLine, Voelkel shared that Freya is beginning to express the emotional side of her and form a relationship with someone other than her family.
"To have someone who can be a real friend or a real teammate is huge for her," Voelkel said.
Meanwhile, Alaric from "The Vampire Diaries" has been confirmed to make an appearance in episode 8, titled "Voodoo in My Blood." And although Narducci remained tight-lipped about his visit to New Orleans, he emphasized that Alaric has "encyclopedic knowledge of the supernatural."
This indicates that Alaric will provide the Mikaelsons helpful information about the Hollow, which will lead them to discover how they can defeat this dark entity.
"He might prove to be even more helpful than we might have expected," teased Narducci.
"The Originals" season 4 returns with episode 6, titled "Bag of Cobras," on Friday, April 28, at 8 p.m. EDT on The CW.
