The awaited Pixar family superhero movie is scheduled to debut three years from now. The sequel will be focused on the Parr family's personal lives rather than their special abilities.

According to Entertainment Weekly, "The Incredibles 2" will premiere on June 21, 2019. The first installment of the family-centric superhero movie launched back in 2004, and it was only in 2014 that Pixar announced a sequel in the works.

Cinema Blend confirmed through Screen Daily that Brad Bird — the director of "The Incredibles" — that they were already working on the sequel in 3D. "It's been an interesting challenge to work on technology because - while the film was released 10 years ago - the technology is even older, as it took four years to make," Bird explained.

It looks like Pixar and Bird has a lot in store for "The Incredibles 2," scheduling a premiere date that gives them five years to work on the film. No other details have been released about the upcoming Pixar movie, but Bird will be focusing on the Parr family's personalities and lives rather than their powers.

"It reinforced my original belief, which is the powers themselves are not that interesting, it's the people that are interesting and how they react to having those powers," Bird shared with IGN.

But he does say that production is "very actively moving, and we're excited about it. We're trying to take it in some new directions."

There have been speculations that "The Incredibles 2" begins after a time jump of 10 years. Violet and Dash – previously voiced by Sarah Vowell and Spencer Fox, respectively – will be in their 20s in this timeline, while their youngest brother Jack-Jack will be a teenage boy.

Rumors suggest that Jack-Jack will rebel against his family, and will release mayhem with his many powers which include shape shifting and teleportation.

"The Incredibles 2" will debut on June 21, 2019.
