Jessica Pearson (Gina Torres) has officially left Pearson Specter Litt, but viewers haven't seen the last of her. Her exit happened while a lot of things have simultaneously begun, but Donna (Sarah Rafferty) and Harvey (Gabriel Macht) remain at a standstill.

At the mid season finale of "Suits" season 6, Jessica decided to move out of the Pearson Specter Litt firm and come with her on-again off-again lover in Chicago, Jeff Malone (D.B. Woodside).

In the final episode titled "PSL," Jessica had flashbacks to when she first decided to become a lawyer. Her real goal of becoming a lawyer was to help people, and not to become the "power-hungry bottom-feeding" kind. This was probably triggered by taking on the case that Rachel (Meghan Markle) presented to her, the Innocence Man Project of saving a man from death row.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Torres shared that one of the reasons for Jessica's departure is that she needed to find her bliss. She also said that despite being a fierce and successful individual, it was important for Jessica to find what moves her and what makes her who she is.

However, Torres said that her exit from the show was very open ended and that there's a high chance that Jessica will come back.

"Don't count Jessica out on "Suits," 'cause those boys are going to mess up and they're going to have to call me. I believe that. I don't know when, I don't know how, but that story's not done, 'cause everybody comes back," Torres said.

Other than Jessica leaving, one of the big moments in the mid season finale of "Suits" season 6 is Harvey and Donna holding hands at one of their lowest points. Harvey and Donna always had a playful dynamic relationship, but they've definitely had a lot of hot and cold moments. Fans are hopeful that their hand-holding moment signifies a step forward in their relationship, but showrunner Aaron Krosh keeps mum about the couple.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Krosh explains "I prefer to let what we do speak for itself. Harvey lost an important figure in his life and I love the way they did that last scene. It was very intimate. We're not going to completely ignore it going forward, but it remains to be seen what kind of effect it's going to have on their relationship."

"Suits" season 6 returns to TV screes on January 2017.
