Storm in a teacup: Bible verses that will kill your doubts

The number one killer of determination is doubt. Be it in the area of business, leadership, personal life or ministry, we all need to take doubt off the table to start letting determination take the form of action.

Doubt can stem from a lot of feelings, but most of it comes from a very deeply rooted source of anxiety and fear. We fear the unknown, the outcome, or the lack of an outcome for that matter, and start doubting whether we should really run the race that God has called us into.

I think it's important to note as well that not all doubt is dangerous. Sometimes God does plant doubt in our heart to make us wiser and to give us a fresh perspective to carrying out initiatives and action. Doubt only becomes a danger to us and our ventures when we start allowing it to be a hindrance and not a propelling force.

Doubt comes in many forms, but wherever it comes from and whatever form it takes, it can be defeated. Here are a few scriptures from the Bible that will help you defeat crippling doubts in your life and continue to run the race that God has called you to win.

Isaiah 35:4. Say to those who have an anxious heart, "Be strong; fear not! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God. He will come and save you."

Jeremiah 17:7-8. Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord. He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit.

Matthew 10:30-31. But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.

Matthew 6:25. Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?

Mark 11:23. Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, "Be taken up and thrown into the sea," and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him.

1 John 4:18. There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.
