Samsung Notebook 9 unveiled at CES 2016

 The Official Samsung Newsroom (news.samsung.com)

Samsung announced and released a wide variety of products in CES 2016, and one of them is an upcoming successor to the notebook series, the Samsung Notebook 9.

After the announcement, the Korean company posted all the specs on the Samsung Newsroom, showing off the sleekness and the power of the upcoming notebook. The Notebook 9 comes in with a full HD display, which allows for superior and bright displays that provide wide angle and low-reflective viewing on their screens. The battery life of the laptop is also something notable as it is seen to last more than 12 hours on one charge, and comes with a Quick Charging feature that enables users to fully charge the device in less than an hour and a half.

The Notebook 9 comes in two size variations: a 13.3-inch and 15-inch laptop. The 13.3-inch variant weighs less than a kilogram (1.85 pounds), lighter than the 2.03-pound weight of the MacBook, giving great portability and convenience to would-be owners. The 15-inch is a little heavier at 2.84 pounds, but is still lighter compared to majority of the 15-inch laptops that are out in the market today.

Two USB 3.0 ports, an HDMI port, a mini ethernet and mini VGA and a 3-in-1 SD card reader are integrated in every device. The 15-inch version has an additional USB Type-C port.

A new security feature called Security CAM also comes with the new device, which takes photos through a built-in camera, and then sends them to a pre-registered email. This allows owners to find the identity of the person holding the computer in case of theft. Other security features such as the Pattern Log-in, Secret Screen, and Record Block features have been added for extra security.

The notebook is powered by Windows 10, and can be acquired with 4 GB or 8 GB of RAM and either 128 GB or 256 GB in internal memory. There are two color variations, Iron Silver and Modern Pink.

The Samsung Notebook 9 is expected to come out in the market by early 2016.
