Samsung is reportedly working on a Pro version for the recently launched Samsung Galaxy A9 handset, and that the development for the smartphone is underway.

According to Sam Mobile, reliable inside sources have stated that the South Korean phone builder is currently working on a smartphone with the serial number SM-9100. The Samsung Galaxy A9's serial number is SM-9000, so there is reason to believe that SM-9100 is a variant of the Galaxy A9 and most probably a Pro version.

Samsung released the Samsung Galaxy A9 only last month and has since then started to show some potential in the market. The premium handset by the Korean OEM sports a 6-inch full-HD resolution super Amoled display with a screen resolution of 1080x1920 pixels and with 2.5D curved glass. The smartphone is powered by a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 SoC clocked at 1.8GHz and accompanied by 3 GB of RAM.

The Galaxy A9 comes with a 32 megabyte built-in storage, which can be expanded up to 128 GB through a microSD card slot. The camera of the handset is a 13-megapixel back-facing camera with LED flash, f/1.9 aperture, and optical image stabilisation (OIS), accompanied by a 8-megapixel front-facing shooter.

The alleged Pro version of the Galaxy A9 should sport all the qualities and specs of the existing variant only with either a bigger screen or a higher resolution. It is also believed that the Galaxy A9 Pro should launch out of the box with the Android 6.0 Marshmallow firmware installed.

On top of the Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro, the company is also eyeing to put out three phones in the mid-range J series- the Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016), Galaxy J5 (2016) and the Galaxy J1 (2016). In addition, Samsung is also working double time to put together the Samsung Galaxy S7 for a launch in the first quarter of this year.
