'Rise of the Tomb Raider' release date news, game updates: players can enjoy new chapters and game modes for 20 Year Celebration

It has been two decades since the first "Tomb Raider" game was released by Crystal Dynamics, and to celebrate the title's 20th year anniversary, the game developer will be releasing a "20 Year Celebration" downloadable content pack for the recently released second installment of "Tomb Raider," "Rise of the Tomb Raider."

The "20 Year Celebration" downloadable content pack has hyped up "Tomb Raider" fans from all over the world, especially since Square Enix released a bunch of screenshots along with a trailer to tease the game's fans.

"Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration" will provide its players with plenty of content that will keep gamers on their seats while playing the third-person action-adventure video game. What's more is that the "Rise of the Tomb Raider" special edition will contain several new game modes including the "Blood Ties" single-player story, "Lara's Nightmare" zombie fight, and the new Co-op Endurance game mode.

Gamers will also be able to enjoy new costumes and weapons including a special "Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration" outfit and a gun that goes with five classic skins.

Furthermore, the "Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration" downloadable content pack will allow its players to access the Extreme Survivor difficulty mode for the game's central campaign story.

Another great thing fans will enjoy is playing the "Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration" with the PlayStation VR, especially since the downloadable content pack will come PlayStation VR ready.

On another note, fans will also be delighted to hear that they can claim 100,000 free in-game credits from Oct. 11 until Oct. 18 when they play "Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration" on PlayStation 4 Xbox One, Xbox 360 or PC.

As for players who preordered the digital "Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration" on PlayStation 4, they will get a free download of "Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition."
