Adult Swim's hit animated series "Rick and Morty" will be making a comeback after approximately a year since the last episode for its second season aired in October 2015. Now, fans are getting hyped over the show's release especially since recent rumors suggested that the show was up for cancellation.

The people working behind "Rick and Morty" have been pretty quiet about the show's development during the first half of the year, which lead to certain speculations suggesting that the show might be up for cancellation. To add to this suspicion, other speculations also suggested that the show's creator Dan Harmon was having issues with casting.

However, two "Rick and Morty" writers — Erica Rosbe and Sarah Carbiener — have recently assured fans that the show will be airing its third season soon as the script for the show is already finished and is only pending approval from the Toronto-based Bardell Entertainment.

Not a month later, further news about the third season of "Rick and Morty" was announced by "Rick and Morty" producer and writer Dan Guterman. More recently, Guterman ended the suspicion that "Rick and Morty" will not be airing its third season due to cancellation.

"And I'm officially done. #RAM #S3," posted Guterman on his official Twitter account.

"I did may be my best work ever over the last 12 months and I am very happy to not have to do any more. #sleep," he said in a follow-up tweet last Tuesday, Nov. 1.

With the current confirmation of the show's imminent airing, fans can soon expect to see promotional trailers for the third season of Adult Swim's "Rick and Morty."

As of now, there is still no official news as to when the premiere episode of "Rick and Morty" season 3 will be aired, but speculations suggest that fans will be able to enjoy "Rick and Morty" season 3 on Dec. 2.
