There are several rules to live by to cash in more Pokécoins and to get the most out of 'Pokémon GO' events.

It is difficult for a Pokémon trainer to run out of Pokécoins, especially when they're in urgent need of Pokéballs or when they need lure modules because they've been stuck in one level for so long.

US Gamer rounded up several rules to live by in "Pokémon GO" to earn more Pokécoins.

Pokémon trainers can earn many coins when defending a gym. A level 5 Pokétrainer will already have chosen a team of a particular color. Then, the trainer will begin joining training or battles in an unclaimed gym or in a gym dominated by their team. Adding their Pokémon in the gym's defense team will earn the trainer a Defender Bonus, which is equivalent to 10 Pokécoins and Stardust every 20 hours.

Trainers can defend up to 10 Pokémon gyms, which can result in earning more than 100 Pokécoins per day. If there are no nearby unclaimed gyms or gyms owned by the same teams, the Pokémon trainers can battle to take over a gym. Once they have dominated the gym as theirs, they can leave their Pokémon to be a defender. They will start earning Defender Bonuses after taking over the gym.

Other ways to earn Pokécoins include visiting Pokéstops and looting from "Pokémon Go" events.

For Pokémon trainers who don't already know, there are several freebies that are given away during "Pokémon GO" events.

Incubators are one of the freebies commonly given away during these events. During the holidays, "Pokémon GO" is generous in handing out incubators in every first PokéStop spin for the day. Sometimes, there are also pre-holiday promos where incubators are offered at a discount.

Other common freebies in "Pokémon GO" events are bonus candies, double XP, and specialized characters, such as a Christmas Pikachu and a Shiny Magikarp.

"Pokémon GO" is available on Android and Apple iOS.
