"Outlander" fans will be excited to know that #Droughtlander is almost over. "Outlander" actor Sam Heughan told Radio Times in a thank you message delivered to the shows supporters that the production of the second season of the romantic drama is close to its completion.

"Season 2 is almost complete, #Droughtlander is almost over!" Heughan said to the shows fans via Radio Times. "Thanks again to out extended Clan of Outlander Fans, we make it for them."

The announcement came as part of a message that Heughan gave to fans after the American-British television show won Radio Times TV Show Champion for 2015. The actor went on to add that the award was dedicated not just to the hands that worked on creating the series, but also to the army of loyal viewers who made the show worthwhile.

"Outlander" Season 2 will take the romance between star-crossed lovers Claire Randall (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie Fraser (Heughan) to Paris as the couple attempts to prevent Jacobite risings by entering into the politics between King Louis XV of France and pretender Charles Stuart.

The romance has received positive reviews from critics. IMDB tallies the ratings of 117 users and 22 critics for an average score of 8.5 out 10 for the first season of the television series. Rotten Tomatoes also reports a score of 91 percent based on 54 reviews.

The series follows the romance between married nurse Randall, who is teleported from the World War II era back to the 17th century, and Scottish warrior Fraser. When Randall is forced to marry Fraser, she gets caught up between the love of two men- the chivalrous warrior from the 17th century and her husband, Frank Randall, back in her home time.

There is no official news yet on when "Outlander" Season 2 will premiere, but reports indicate that it could happen anywhere between March and April 2016.
