New characters will join the people of Storybrooke just before season 6 ends. Meanwhile, the musical episode will feature the wedding of Emma (Jennifer Morrison) and Hook (Colin O'Donoghue).
"Once Upon a Time" has three episodes left for season 6, and it has been confirmed that some of the characters' stories will end with the current season as well. TVLine confirmed that Morrison, O'Donoghue, Lana Parrilla, and Robert Carlyle are currently in negotiations to continue to a new season, while Ginnifer Goodwin and Josh Dallas might only be guest stars as the Charmings in season 7.
However, series co-creator Adam Horowitz refuses to reveal which of the cast members have confirmed their return for season 7. However, he assures fans that there will not be any unfinished stories for season 6.
"We planned this finale from the beginning of the year, so whoever stays and whoever goes... all those questions have already been dealt with. The audience does not have to fear [anything feeling] incomplete," co-creator Eddy Kitsis confirmed.
Meanwhile, new characters will be joining in the season 6 finale to pave their way as regular cast members in the upcoming new season of "Once Upon a Time." These new faces will be Andrew J. West, who will be playing a cynical young man, and Alison Fernandez, who will portray a 10-year-old girl.
Stories might be ending for some of the characters in Storybrooke, but "Once Upon a Time" will be sharing a special moment in the episode before the finale by having the musical revolve around Hook and Emma's wedding.
ET Online confirmed that the musical wedding episode 19 will premiere on May 7, and actors Morrison and O'Donoghue are very excited for this episode. "We just felt, like, what better way to make it feel extra special than to have [the wedding] also be the musical episode?" Morrison shared.
"Once Upon a Time" season 6 airs every Sunday night at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC.
