Emma Swan (Jennifer Morrison) has found out that her fate is to die, and now her survival looks uncertain. Meanwhile, Storybrooke will be changed upon the arrival of the characters from the Land of Untold Stories.

In the season 6 premiere of "Once Upon a Time," Emma stumbles upon a former oracle who reveals the visions that she's been having, which are about the Savior's future. Someone will be plunging a blade through Emma, and this will result in her death.

"You can change the path to the destination but the destination is the same. On the day you saw, in the battle you saw, you will die," the oracle revealed.

In an interview with TV Line, series creator Adam Horowitz revealed that "Once Upon a Time" will retain its theme of hope. "Our characters are going to fight the battle to see if that is a fate that is immovable," shared Horowitz.

Yet it is still possible that Emma will not have a happy ending. Series co-creator Edward Kitsis explains, "Now that she said I love you to Hook, we thought, 'Well, if you're letting that wall down and all those good things in, all the bad things are going to come in.'" All those elements will play a part in how Emma's fate turns out in season 6.

Meanwhile, now that the portal to the Land of the Untold stories is open, Storybrooke will be meeting new characters. These characters are described as people who were unhappy with their stories and left, leaving them with unresolved stories of their own.

"What we're exploring is characters who have run away from their stories, who have left them, and who have gone to this other place. Now, they find themselves in Storybrooke, and stories that they may have been put on pause are resumed," Horowitz told ET Online.

Upon their arrival in Storybrooke in "Once Upon a Time" season 6, the characters and their stories will be set in motion. The reasons why these new characters left their stories might be revealed, and some of them might have closure and maybe even their own happy endings.

"Once Upon a Time" season 6 airs every Sunday at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC.
