The upcoming sixth episode of "Once Upon a Time" season 6 — titled "Dark Waters" — features the history between Hook and Captain Nemo.
According to the synopsis released by The Futon Critic – "Emma (Jennifer Morrison) tries to convince Aladdin (Deniz Akdeniz) to work with Jasmine (Karen David) to help Agrabah, while Regina (Lana Parrilla) teams up with Snow (Ginnifer Goodwin) and David (Josh Dallas) to free Archie (Raphael Sbarge) from Zelena (Rebecca Mader). The Evil Queen sows suspicion between Henry (Jared S. Gilmore) and Hook, even as Mr. Gold (Robert Carlyle) reminds her of his most important lesson. Meanwhile, in the past, Hook finds himself kidnapped by the mysterious Captain Nemo and held captive inside his legendary submarine, the Nautilus."
Based on the original story of the book "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea," Captain Nemo was the commander of an advanced submarine named the Nautilus that was thought to be a sea monster in the year of 1886. The story revolved around the adventures of Captain Nemo and the three people he took captive in the Nautilus, who had initially planned to destroy the so-called sea monster.
As seen in the episode 6 promo, Captain Hook became one of Captain Nemo's prisoners. "Once Upon a Time" season 6 might reveal what happened to Captain Nemo and the Nautilus, unlike in the novel where their fate was unknown. And with the series' creative plot twists, Captain Hook might have something to do with the fate of Captain Nemo.
Previously in "Once Upon a Time," Emma had acquired the magic shears that could save her from her fate as The Savior. Following the goodness of her heart, she chose not to use it and asked Hook to get rid of it. However, Hook kept the magic shears instead.
Speculations point out that Hook's great love for Emma pushed him to keep the magic shears so that someday Emma can be saved from the dying fate of being The Savior. Emma might feel betrayed by Hook, but might resort to the magic shears herself if she is left with no other choice.
"Once Upon a Time" season 6 airs every Sunday at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC.
