Happily married couple Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed have announced that they are expecting their first child. There are speculations that the couple will be having a baby boy because of what Reed was wearing during their big reveal.

On Thursday, both Reed and Somerhalder took to Instagram that they are having their first baby.

The couple posted the same photo, where Reed is happily holding her baby bump and her hubby is down on his knees giving her womb a gentle kiss.

Somerhalder captions the photo addressing their closest friends and family and to the "rest of the world."

The actor shares, "I can't think of anything more exciting than this next chapter and we wanted you to hear this from us first. This has been the most special time of our lives and we wanted to keep it between the three of us for as long as possible so we could enjoy this time with each other and our little one."

Meanwhile, Reed chose to write an open letter to her soon-to-be-born child.

The "Twilight" actress shares, "How is it possible to love someone so much already? All I know for sure is it's the strongest feeling I've ever felt."

Both parents are very excited to meet their firstborn child. Although the couple does not reveal the sex of their baby, there are speculations that they will be having a baby boy because of Reed's dress in the photo.

E! News reports that Reed's dress in their pregnancy shoot is a Bayou With Love blue chambray. The color blue led to speculations that their first child is a baby boy, since that color is used to represent a boy in gender reveals for expecting parents.

Reed nor Somerhalder has confirmed the rumors circulating about the gender of their soon-to-be born baby.
