Season 1 of "Luke Cage" premiered only last Sept. 30, but fans are already waiting for the sequel to the events that happened in Harlem's Paradise. Misty's (Simone Missick) development into a vigilante is one of the things that fans are also expecting to see in season 2.

At the 2016 Televisions Critics Association last August, chief content officer of Netflix – Ted Sarandos – said that two Marvel series will be released per year, according to Screencrush. Sarandos explained the timeline of Marvel series to be released, where after "Luke Cage," "Iron Fist" and "The Defenders" will premiere in 2017.

Season 2 of "Jessica Jones" is already expected to premiere in 2018 along with "Daredevil" season 3. This pushes "Luke Cage" season 2 to a possible premiere in 2019.

A lot of events went down in the season finale of "Luke Cage," which also brought on a lot of questions about what happens next. One of the questions that is expected to be answered in season 2 is: will Misty turn into a vigilante after not being able to apprehend Mariah (Alfre Woodard)?

Previously in "Luke Cage," Misty and Ridley (Karen Pittman) were questioning Mariah when Shades (Theo Rossi) killed their star witness, Candace (Deborah Ayorinde).

The case against Mariah killing her cousin Cottonmouth (Mahershala Ali) is dumped, and Mariah is free to rule over Cottonmouth's crime syndicate in Harlem with Shades by her side.

Although Misty had little trust in the system, as a cop she always followed the rules. However, now that Mariah has taken over as the new "Mama" in Harlem, this might push Misty to achieve justice on her own terms. In the finale, Misty was seen dressed very similarly to her comic character, and this points to speculations that she is transitioning into a vigilante superhero who will claim justice with her own two hands.

"Luke Cage" season 2 is expected to premiere in 2019 on Netflix.
