The first-person shooter game "Left 4 Dead 2" was released back in 2009, and fans of the "Left 4 Dead" franchise were hyped when an image depicting the "Left 4 Dead 3" development was recently leaked online by a Valve employee.

It has already been seven years since "Left 4 Dead 2" was released, and speculations about the game's upcoming new installment has spread around the internet because of an image leaked by Valve employee Tristan Reidford.

Reidford was reportedly walking video gamers through a "Destination" virtual reality platform tutorial on Steam. The players accidentally stumbled upon a folder in Reidford's computer labeled "left4dead3."

The image from Reidford's "left4dead3" folder has spread all over the internet ever since, but the original source of the photo has already been taken down and replaced as of now. Because of this, more speculations around "Left 4 Dead 3" suggests that the game could very well be under development and is just being kept under the wraps for now.

On another note, rumors about the upcoming "Left 4 Dead 3" plot suggests that the game will not be pickin up where it left off in "Left 4 Dead 2."

The new game might come out as a prequel where players will be introduced to the people who survived the zombie attack first.

"Left 4 Dead 3" is said to introduce gamers to the first survivors Francis, Louis, Bill, and Zoey. The game will also allegedly come out with a new set of characters whose names are Garrett, Keenan, Irvin, and Katherine.

Furthermore, "Left 4 Dead 3" is also said to be set in a new location. The game will immerse its players in a plantation, one whose map is speculated to be highly-related to the game's finale.

As of now, there is still no official news on the release of "Left 4 Dead 3," but speculations suggest that the game might be out sometime in 2017.
