Marvel TV and Netflix have cast Golden Globe winner Janet McTeer to play a role that has a big impact on Jessica Jones' (Krysten Ritter) life. Meanwhile, four new character breakdowns have been revealed, hinting at rumored Marvel personalities.

There is still no confirmation on when season 2 of "Jessica Jones" will premiere or what the show's plot is about, but one thing is certain: there is a whole new set of characters that will be introduced in the new season.

One of these characters will have a big influence on Jessica's life, and will be portrayed by none other than two-time Oscar nominee and Golden Globe winner, McTeer.

Series creator Melissa Rosenberg shared with Entertainment Weekly how excited they are to work with "The White Queen" alum.

"Her gravitas and authenticity are the perfect ingredients for all we're trying to create this year. She disappears into roles, gives her characters extraordinary dimension and depth. We're incredibly fortunate to be able to collaborate with her," Rosenberg revealed.

Even Marvel TV chief Jeph Loeb believes that McTeer and his role will be key in keeping fans of the show hooked for season 2. "Our second season of Marvel's 'Jessica Jones' aims to capture what audiences loved about our first, and Janet will be key to achieving that goal," he shared.

Aside from McTeer, character breakdowns for "Jessica Jones" season 2 have also been circulating the web and have sparked speculations on the possible Marvel characters who might show up in the upcoming season.

Reports indicate four new character breakdowns, with code names Dr. Kirby, Presley, Oliver, and Ingrid. Three out of four of these will be series regulars.

The most intriguing out of the four is Ingrid, who is rumored to be Typhoid Mary. There have been talks that Typhoid Mary is the next big bad that Jessica will face in season 2.

"Jessica Jones" season 2 is anticipated to premiere in 2018.
