Like daughter, like mother. Xo (Andrea Navedo) will experience a blast from the past when her ex-boyfriend appears at a complicated time in her life. Meanwhile, the cast of "Jane the Virgin" reveals their reactions about episode 1 of season 3.

According to Deadline, Xo's ex-boyfriend will be appearing in "Jane the Virgin" season 3, to be played by "Desperate Housewives" star Ricardo Chavira. No other details have been revealed about what Chavira's character will bring in season 3, other than he was married at the time he was dating Xo.

Aside from a complicated past, this ex-boyfriend's appearance will not be a good thing for Xo especially with her current situation. Previously in "Jane the Virgin," Xo found out that she was pregnant and she couldn't tell anyone about it. A bigger problem is that she is not sure who the father of her child is because she had both been with Rogelio (Jaime Camil) and his nemesis Esteban (Keller Wortham) recently.

Like mother, like daughter, Jane (Gina Rodriguez) will also be meeting someone from her past in season 3.

TV Line reports that Miles Gaston Villanueva from "Young and the Restless" will be playing Sam, Jane's old crush before she had met Michael (Brett Dier) and Rafael (Justin Baldoni). It is speculated that Sam and Jane will have sparks in season 3, which may affect Jane's paused marriage with Michael who is still in a coma. There are even rumors that, since Jane will be losing her virginity in season 3, Sam will be the lucky guy she does the deed with.

In an interview with The CW, the cast revealed their reactions about the upcoming premiere episode of "Jane the Virgin" season 3.

"That episode is going to be so shocking. It's like a roller coaster, that first episode," said Ivonne Coll, who portrays Alba in the series. Baldoni had a more extreme reaction. "When I read that script, I got a little sick to my stomach. I was like, 'That is wrong!" he exclaimed.

Based on these reactions, it appears that the premiere episode of "Jane the Virgin" season 3 will take its fans for a stomach-tingling ride.

"Jane The Virgin" season 3 premieres on Monday, Oct. 17, at 9 p.m. EDT on The CW.
