The iPhone 7s is not yet available on the market, and rumors are spreading that tech giant Apple will be ditching the 7s and skipping ahead to the iPhone 8 for 2017.

Speculations suggest that the new iPhone 8 will come out in 2017 with a huge change in the iPhone line up's design. It is rumored that the new Apple device will come to the market next year with an edge-to-edge 5.8-inch OLED display, a Touch ID fingerprint sensor, a stainless steel frame, a better camera, and a completely full-glass body with a bezel-free overall design.

The new iPhone 8 is also rumored to come out of the box with the Touch ID fingerprint sensor located in the previous home button's place. The new device is also speculated to come out ready for wireless charging along with a stronger A11 processor.

The iPhone 8 will also come out in several variants. The high-end model will come out with a stainless steel body, and the a base model that will come out with a lighter aluminum metal body.

On another note, several U.S. patents filed by Apple have shed some more light on the upcoming device's features. One patent filed back in June 26, 2015 shows that the new device might contain a display-integrated light sensor whose panel is composed of a transparent cover layer, light-generating layers and a touch-sensitive layer. This patent has led to several speculations that the new iPhone 8 might come to the market completely bezel-free.

Another patent filed by Apple suggests that the new iPhone 8 might have a digital camera equipped with an incident light-absorbing light splitter cube that can spread incident light into several color components, making for a better photo.

Additionally, one more patent by Apple describes a super resolution image sensor for a miniature camera that can enhance images by utilizing color splitters.
