The release of "Hunter x Hunter" chapter 361 is still on hold due to the health condition of series creator Yoshihiro Togashi.
Rocket News 24 confirmed through Weekly Shonen Jump last July that the manga series "Hunter x Hunter" will be on hiatus once more.
Although no reason was given by the publication, it was later confirmed by The Bitbag that the reason for the delay is series creator Togashi's serious back pains. There have been no updates about chapter 361's production because Togashi is required to have complete bed rest.
Meanwhile, the publisher of "Hunter x Hunter" — Shueisha — is speculated to reassign Togashi in a position that will not delay the publication of the series. Togashi will become a consultant instead and will oversee a panel of writers that will be hired to continue "Hunter x Hunter" with no delay. This way, Togashi will be able to preserve the creativity and artistic continuity that he has implemented in the Manga series.
Unfortunately, the new set of writers that were assigned to work on "Hunter x Hunter" did not meet Togashi's expectations in fulfilling his visions for the series. This left Shueisha with no choice but to keep "Hunter x Hunter" on hold for the time being.
Because of these reports, fans are worried that "Hunter x Hunter" might conclude at chapter 360, leaving its readers with several cliffhangers. The most recent chapter in the series was released last July, which was chapter 360, titled "Parasite."
The chapter revolved around Kurapika's mission to decipher who was causing the mysterious deaths in Black Whale. Fans are expecting that in the succeeding chapter, Kurapika will be able to solve the mystery and that he will have a battle with the Nen beasts.
Although there is no news of improvements in Togashi's condition or Shueisha's approach in the continuation of the series, chapter 361 of "Hunter x Hunter" is expected to hopefully to be released February 2017, based on the previous releases of chapters.
