Frank (Charlie Weber), who has been on the run since he brought Wes (Alfred Enoch) to see his father Wallace Mahoney (Adam Arkin), has a mysterious past that will be revealed gradually all throughout season 3. Meanwhile, Connor (Jack Falahee) and Oliver's (Conrad Ricamora) break up might be for good.

Previously in "How to Get Away With Murder" season 3, episode 2 — titled "There are Worse Things Than Murder" — Frank is still on the loose and his whereabouts still unknown. However, he does make contact with Annalise (Viola Davis) through her burner phone, saying that he had no choice but to kill her new handy man. A lot of questions surround Frank's disappearance, but more of his story will be revealed all throughout this season 3.

In an interview with Variety, series creator Pete Nowalk revealed, "I will say Frank is a central figure and mystery in our entire season. We'll find out a lot more in the first episode, and what I'm really excited about is that we're going to dive a lot more into his backstory — his origin story with Sam (Tom Verica) and Annalise and see how they met this season." Frank's complicated past may explain how he developed a dynamic relationship with Annalise, and it might shed some light into his current conflict with her – being the root to her unborn child's death.

At the end of the second episode of season 3, Annalise was seen handing her burner phone to Oliver and asking him to wipe it clean. Now that it is confirmed that Oliver will be staying alive at least until the incident of the murder mystery, one question to ask is if he and Connor will get back together again.

Ricamora shared that Oliver is at a point in where he needs to reevaluate all the big changes that have happened in his life and that his decision to break up with Connor is final.

"Oliver does need time to figure out who he is and what he wants. Before he met Connor he lived a very safe, uneventful, unambitious life. Now he fell in love for the first time, found out he is HIV positive, and has a job and career he finds much more satisfying than he thought he could have," shared Ricamora.

But according to Nowalk, Connor and Oliver's relationship "goes to a different place than you would expect in the next few episodes."

"How to Get Away with Murder" season 3 airs on Thursdays at 10 p.m. EDT on ABC.
