Wes (Alfred Enoch) was last seen ratting out Annalise (Viola Davis) to the police in exchange for immunity, but there seems to be more to the story. Meanwhile, will Oliver (Conrad Ricamora) uncover the Keating 5's involvement in Sam's (Tom Verica) death?

Previously in "How to Get Away With Murder" season 3, Wes was asking for immunity from the police in exchange for information regarding Annalise and his recently discovered dead girlfriend, Rebecca (Katie Findlay). But it seems that the truth is far from what it looks like.

In an interview with TV Line, Enoch explained how his character worked hard in keeping his relationship grounded with Annalise.

"The kind of work Wes has done over the seasons to make his relationship with Annalise work — even in this weird state of affairs — he's come to accept that she's one of the most important people in his life. As much as she's done some very questionable things as far as his interests are concerned, and as much as she's kept things from him, they've been bound together," said Enoch.

It is possible that Wes was only pretending to be an informant against Annalise, which is part of a bigger plan that he and Annalise have worked out. Annalise may feel guilty about Wes' death, since she could have put him in the circumstances that to his death.

Meanwhile, Connor (Jack Falahee) might have lead Oliver to uncover the real events that lead to Sam's death back in season 1. Oliver and Connor have a lot to process about their relationship before getting back together, but finding out Connor's involvement in Sam's murder might end their relationship for good.

Executive producer Peter Nowalk shares with TV Guide what Oliver will go through in the second half of season 3.

"But the most immediate obstacle in their relationship is, will Oliver put together the pieces about Sam? Is Oliver going to go along with this sh-- or is he going to say, 'Screw you people. I'm done'? Obviously Wes being dead has more weight on this decision for Oliver. He doesn't want to become Wes either," explained Nowalk.

"How to Get Away With Murder" season 3 returns on January 19, 2017.
