How hungry are you for Jesus in your life?

We are creatures of satisfaction. Wired in us is an innate desire for our hearts to be filled.

But sadly in our confusion we tend to fill our hearts with the wrong things. Understanding that there is a God-shaped hole that only Jesus can fill and hungering for Him to fill it every moment of our life brings us to better satisfaction.

We all have experienced what it's like to feel empty. Imagine being extremely famished and all you eat is ice cream and candies. We all know a person who does so will never have his or her fill because that person needs real food and a full meal. It's no different with our hearts in that they need the one thing or one Person that can authentically fill us to satisfaction.

Psalm 42:1-2 says, "As a deer pants for flowing streams, so pants my soul for you, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God?"

Just how hungry are your for Jesus in your life? Your value and desire for Jesus will heavily determine how much of His value we truly understand.

No one will value something that they don't know. Jesus says in Matthew 7:6, ""Do not give dogs what is holy, and do not throw your pearls before pigs, lest they trample them underfoot and turn to attack you."

Truth be told, we are all pigs who tend to forget the value and preciousness that lies in the presence and name of Christ. But we must remind ourselves everyday just how much power, authority, glory and holiness there is in Christ. In knowing this, we will learn to value Him more.

In John 6:35, Jesus declares, "I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst."

Imagine having all your needs met, never going hungry (both physically and spiritually), always having contentment and character of heart and never feeling the bitterness of loneliness. We can have this all in Christ. As we seek Him more and more, He says that all things will be added upon us.

The question posted for us is this: "Do we understand that our hearts were made to value and desire Jesus most?" Revelations 5:12 declares, "Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honour and glory and blessing."

Our hearts were made to hunger most for Jesus Christ and seek Him in all we do first and foremost.
