Sunday was the end of "Homeland" season 5, where viewers saw Carrie Mathison survive an attempt to stop an attack by terrorist Qasim in Berlin and end with Peter Quinn hanging for his dear life (or maybe even already dead) before the credits roll.

The big question that "Homeland" fans are asking is whether Showtime will let the storyline end on such a bitter note or whether there will be a season 6 to carry on the adventures of Mathison. In an interview with The New York Times, show creator Alex Gansa said that he still doesn't have a storyline for Season 6.

While this could have been a source of great displeasure for the millions of viewers anticipating yet another season, Gansa follows that statement up by assuring fans that there will still be another season. In fact, he says there may even be two more.

"The show will run for at least two more seasons," Gansa said in his interview with NY Times. "That would be my guess."

According to Variety, "Homeland" was watched by 2.073 million viewers in the last episode of season 5, marking the third straight week that the show has reached a year high for the five-year-old series.

Homeland is a American political drama following the tension of Mathison, played by Claire Danes, a CIA operations officer with bipolar tendencies. The show is the creation of Gansa and Howard Gordon. The highly-acclaimed action drama adopted from "Prisoners of War" has been rated by IMDB with a score of 8.4 out of 10, and by TV.com with a score of 8.7 out of 10.

Other people on cast include Mandy Patinkin as Saul Berenson, Damian Lewis as Nicholas Brody, Rupert Friend as Peter Quinn and Morena Baccarat as Jessica Brody. The show first debuted on home television on Oct. 2, 2011.
