Valve Corporation's "Half-Life 3" is a game that "Half-Life" fans have been waiting for approximately a decade, which is why news of a 2018 release are getting fans all hyped up about the third installment of the "Half-Life" franchise.

"Half-Life's" first installment was released way back in November 1998, and ever since then gamers have enjoyed delving into the world of "Half-Life," which later lead to the release of its second installment in 2004, "Half-Life 2."

"Half-Life 2" was originally intended to be followed by a sequel titled "Half-Life 2: Episode Three," and the sequel was supposed to be released sometime in 2007 but was entirely ditched by Valve Corporation. Since then, there hasn't been any follow up on the game for approximately 10 years until today.

Though there is no official release date yet for the much awaited "Half-Life 3," there has been many speculations spreading around the internet about the game's plot.

One thing fans suspect from "Half-Life 3's" plot is that the game will feature a Kraken Base that will allow its players to be immersed in a game of deep sea exploration. The game is also said to come with a submarine feature that will equip players with the capability to roam the ocean floor.

Other fans speculate that "Half-Life 3" will have its players take on the role of Gordon Freeman, that is also said to be betrayed by his allies sometime in the game when he meets with Doctor Helena Mossman.

There's still no confirmation about the upcoming game's storyline, but other fans suspect that "Half-Life 3" might just pick up where it left off in "Half-Life 2."

On another note, rumors have spread that the new "Half-Life 3" game would come out ready for virtual reality platforms, making it a totally immersive first-person shooter game that's worth waiting for.

As for the game's release, there is no official word from Valve Corporation yet, and rumors of a prolonged development are spreading around the internet because of speculations that only a small team is working on the game. However, fans highly speculate that "Half-Life 3" will be available in the market sometime in 2018, especially since the game will be celebrating its 20th year anniversary in 2018.
