Arizona Robbins (Jessica Capshaw) will be meeting the new love of her life soon in season 13. A familiar face will also be returning to Grey Sloan Memorial – Leah Murphy (Tessa Ferrer).
Previously in "Grey's Anatomy," Callie Torres (Sara Ramirez) and Arizona have ended their marriage, which led to them fighting over the custody of their child, Sofia (Eva Ariel Binder). Arizona won full physical custody of Sofia, and Callie has made the decision to follow her girlfriend – Penny (Samantha Sloyan) – to New York and she wanted to bring her child with her. Arizona became the bigger woman and let Callie bring Sofia.
With Callie out of Arizona's life, Entertainment Weekly reports that according to executive producer Shonda Rhimes, Arizona will be meeting someone new in "Grey's Anatomy" season 13.
"We're absolutely going to see it. I'm very excited to introduce a love interest for her, and to get to tell a story with her that lets her be who she is, and to see who she is post the relationships that she's had," Rhimes explained.
A familiar face will also be popping up at Grey Sloan Memorial. TV Guide reports that Leah — who used to be an intern along with Jo (Camilla Luddington) and Stephanie (Jerrika Hinton) — will be returning in the thirteenth season of "Grey's Anatomy."
Leah left Grey Sloan when she was fired by Richard (James Pickens Jr.), who told her that she didn't have what it takes to be at Grey Sloan Memorial. No other details have been revealed about when or why Leah will be coming back to Grey Sloan, but it is speculated that she will be the anticipated new love interest for Arizona this season.
In season 10, Arizona had a secret relationship with Leah, but it was cut off when Arizona and Callie reconciled their differences to work on their marriage. It is possible that Leah will be rekindling her relationship with Arizona, especially now that Callie is out of the picture.
"Grey's Anatomy" season 13 airs every Thursday at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC.
