Amelia's (Caterina Scorsone) revelation in the most recent episode might cause the end of her marriage with Owen (Kevin McKidd). Meanwhile, someone will be arriving at Grey Sloan who will cause a disruption in the life of the hospital doctors.
Previously in "Grey's Anatomy," Amelia opened up to Alex (Justin Chambers) about her short experience as a mother and her son's tragic death. It seems that she is still traumatized and is determined not to let Owen know. But Owen has always wanted to have a kid, and Amelia's trauma might make his dream impossible. Will the two part ways soon?
In an interview with TV Line, Scorsone shares what's going on inside Amelia's head about her current dilemma and her marriage with Owen.
"I think that she loves him and admires him as a human, but as much as she talks a good game, there's a big piece of her that wonders if she's worthy of his love. Also, to give him what she knows he wants [a child] means confronting really, really deep traumas and fears for her," explained Scorsone.
She adds that Amelia was just being optimistic by thinking that she could keep her traumatic past at bay, and soon realizes that Owen might come to a decision to end their marriage because of it.
In the upcoming seventh episode of "Grey's Anatomy" season 13 — titled "Why Try to Change Me Now" — someone will be coming to Grey Sloan that puts the doctors on edge. According to the synopsis released by The Futon Critic, "The arrival of a new consultant puts all of the doctors on edge, especially once she starts stepping on toes in the OR."
In the episode promo, it seems that the big shift brought by the newcomer puts some of the doctors' careers on shaky ground. But what will the doctors in charge — such as Bailey (Chandra Wilson) and Webber (James Pickens Jr.) — do about it?
