"Gran Turismo Sport" will have a delayed release due to the team's effort to try and perfect the game. The competitive racing title will also be exclusive to the PS4 game console.

"Gran Turismo Sport" — the seventh installment of the racing video game series "Gran Turismo" created by Polyphony Digital — was supposed to be released this November. But Kazunori Yamauchi, founder of Polyphony Digital and creator of "Gran Turismo," posted in the Play Station Blog that they will have to delay the game's release to 2017.

Yamauchi said that "Gran Turismo Sport" is one of their most ambitious accomplishments and the title garnered high expectations from the GT community. Their team does not want to compromise the gaming experience of "Gran Turismo Sport," which is why they decided to forego their release date of November this year to make it the best GT game to hit the market.

Yamauchi mentioned that they have used the latest technologies in creating "Gran Turismo Sport" such as physics-based rendering, sound simulations, and Scapes photo mode.

According to Gospel Herald, "Gran Turismo Sport" will have 1,000 racing locations, along with 140 cars and 19 different racetracks. The game will be the first to be released for the PS4 game console exclusively, unlike its "Gran Turismo" predecessors.

Yamauchi revealed that the PS4 was the better option because "Gran Turismo Sport" had limitations in the PS3, but those problems disappeared in the updated game console. The game is also currently being developed for the PlayStation VR.

"Gran Turismo Sport" was coined based on the new feature that will be to the game: "Sport Mode." Yamauchi explained that this feature improves the gamer's driving skills after 10 races. Their game system will then group gamers based on their improvement levels in the "Sport Mode" and match all of them to a race.

Yamauchi is planning to hire real umpires to help judge the performances of the gamers and also acquire real F1 racers to train the gamers who make it to the finals of the racing matches.

"Gran Turismo Sport" is expected to launch in 2017.
