Easter celebration dates for 2018

Santa Claus has come and gone with Christmas and New Year's Eve 2017 in the books. Now, the Easter Bunny is on his way with a bundle of chocolate eggs with the Easter celebration to commence on March 30.

Last year's Easter celebration commenced in the middle of April 2017 with Good Friday dated at April 14, 2017. This year's Easter will cross March and April. Good Friday is set on March 30, Easter Sunday on April 1, and Easter Monday on April 2. Easter Sunday date varies every year unlike Christmas celebration.

The date of Easter is determined on the day of the next full moon after the Spring Equinox that is dated on March 21, Wednesday, this year.

Easter Sunday is the day to celebrate Jesus Christ's resurrection from the dead, and Good Friday pays tribute to his crucifixion. Easter Sunday also marks the end of the lent season.

The holiday is met by Christians all over the world with mass celebrations, Sunday services, and even a few fun activities involving eggs. Many publications have reiterated that this year's Easter Sunday is dated the same day as April Fool's Day. Easter Sunday and April Fool's Day will again be celebrated on the same day in the year 2029.

After every service or mass on Easter Sunday, egg-hunting activities are held by churches, organizations, groups, and families all over the world. It is also the perfect time to give up chocolate bunnies to family and friends. After Easter Sunday comes Easter Monday. The holiday Easter Monday is also known as a Bank Holiday in the United Kingdom. Bank Holidays are highly anticipated among people in the U.K. as short vacation dates.

Many people are waiting for the release of the biblical drama film "Mary Magdalene" in anticipation of Easter. The movie will hit theaters on March 30, meaning on Good Friday.
