The updated version of the 2001 game "Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past" has received a confirmed launch date from developer Nintendo, and the game is set to arrive this year- specifically around summer

Techno Buffalo reports that Nintendo announced during a press conference in September that "Dragon Quest VII" would be arriving this year. In a recent press conference, that rounded off estimate has been narrowed down to the period covering the summer of 2016, meaning "Dragon Quest" fans could be seeing the latest instalment of the game sometime in June to August 2016.

According to a tweet by GameXplain, Nintendo also said that "Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past" will have a complete revamp making the experience a completely brand new one. Some of the changes adapted by the developers include a new set of writing, the removal of random encounters and a set of new enemies on the map. That being said fans can anticipate that the new game version will be unlike anything fans have seen before.

The upcoming "Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past" for 2016 is an updated game version of the one released by Nintendo with Square Enix back in 2001. The game is the seventh instalment of the popular Dragon Quest series of role playing games and the successor to Dragon Quest VI for the Super Famicom released back in 2005. "Dragon Quest VII" currently has versions created for Playstation 2, Nintendo 3Ds and iOS and Android. The mobile smartphone version of the game was released September last year.

In other related news, Square Enix has confirmed that "Dragon Quest 8: Journey of the Cursed King" would also be coming to the west in 2016 for the Nintendo 3DS, probably a bit later than the seventh instalment. Analysts are speculating that "Journey of the Cursed King" could come sometime in November 2016.
